Vlog: I quit smoking

For the past two years I've been a social smoker, smoking maybe 1 cigarette every 2 weeks or so, mainly at parties where everyone else smokes, but recently I've realized they don't anything for me except they make me feel cool. So I stopped, I realized that If I keep that up I can easily become a religious smoker by age 23.

Right on! I just quit smoking about a month and a half ago, and I was a serious smoker for 3 years. It's amazing to feel in control.

Everyone has some level of addiction, some so severely stronger than others.

The one thread that links all present and former nicotine smokers, caffeine drinkers, and cocaine users.
We all want the same thing.
We want to breathe.
Now we all show up to our local Yoga class to re-learn how to breathe, and breathe deeply so that we can actually feel real.

No judgment. Be well.

P.S. Eventually smoke finds it's way to the weak spot in our system, the crack in our soft shell, and harbors there creating chaos that we eventually call Cancer. So there.

I can't stand when people who smoke complain about not having money yet they spend $40 a week on cigarettes....

And I recently read that if cigarettes were invented today they would be illegal.

Ohhhhhhh!! I am VERY proud of you, Franco!!
I smoked (cigs) from age 15 - almost 16... Six months - but was up to 3 packs a day by the time I quit.. I have a host of respiratory probs as a result- that have lasted my entire life.... So... at your young age... I just have to say that I am really glad you stopped now rather than later.... Cheers, Leesa : )

P.S. I just watched the video after my comment... You should see the addicts here in France.... SOOOOO MANY... well, in Europe, I think people smoke more than in California... (I don't know about smoking in other states).... You have some wise reflections, btw....
Take care...

Franco,

thanks for the thoughts on smoking and who's at fault. it's tough to quit and not particularly helpful in the moment to blame the tobacco company. this is a link to a video about Charles. He found a way to quit and his story became part of Mutual of Omaha's aha moments effort.

http://www.ahamoment.com/vote/charles

if enough people vote for Charles story then he'll become part of their 2010 television effort. that's a good thing because more people will hear a story about quitting.

if you like vote please. if you really like tell some friends.

thanks,
